Who are Ride of the Legends?
Ride of the Legends is the ultimate rugby/cycling union. We mix the challenging test of endurance of the long distance bike ride with the friends for life forming camaraderie of the rugby pitch. As ROTL Ambassador Roger Uttley OBE put it, "The Spirit of Rugby on a Bike".
Ride of the Legends create events for cyclists of all abilities, whether you are experienced or a complete novice, we have something for you. All our events are carefully planned to provide a challenge to suit everyone. Our challenge is to create your challenge.
We have eight years experience, understanding that your safety and enjoyment are paramount. We also adhere to our values of sport, namely, teamwork, respect, discipline, enjoyment and sportsmanship.
We have supported several charities including Walking with the Wounded, Wooden Spoon, Conductive Education raising substantial funds. We now support the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation which was formed by our great friend Doddie Weir after he was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in December 2016.
Doddie Weir is one of rugby’s most recognisable personalities. He earned 61 caps for Scotland during a successful playing career, represented the British and Irish Lions on their successful tour to South Africa in 1997, and won championships with his two club sides, Melrose and Newcastle Falcons.
A talented, committed and athletic lock forward, Doddie is now facing his biggest challenge. In June 2017 the Scot revealed he was suffering from Motor Neurone Disease. From the outset, Doddie has been driven to help fellow sufferers and seek ways to further research into this, as yet, incurable disease. In November 2017 Doddie and his Trustees launched the registered charity My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
Its aims are simple:
To raise funds to aid research into the causes of Motor Neurone Disease and investigate potential cures.
To make grants to individuals suffering from MND, to enable them to live as fulfilled a life as possible.

With your support, you will help Doddie and the Trustees make a difference to the lives of those coping and battling with Motor Neurone Disease.
