Ride of the Legends
South Africa 2021
Rugby, cycling, wine. Raise money for the My Name5 Doddie Foundation. Its 'The Spirit of Rugby on a Bike'.
This tour will mark the third charity cycle event organised by the Ride of the Legends during a Lions Tour following Melbourne to Sydney in 2013 and Wellington to Auckland 2017. We will be joined by a host of former Lions and Springbok legends raising funds for both the www.myname5doddie.co.uk and www.Masicorp.org
The event will take in the 2nd and 3rd tests, will include 4 days of road cycling, wine tasting in premier Cape wineries, charity golf and several fundraising events.
Itinerary
30th Jul - Arrive in Capetown, transfer to hotel. Charity dinner in evening.
31st Jul - 2nd test v Springboks, Capetown Stadium Seapoint.
1st Aug -Cycle to the Arrabela Country Estate near Hermanus
2nd Aug -Morning cycle followed by free afternoon.
3rd Aug -Cycle followed by late lunch and wine tasting at Annandale
winery owned by former Springbok Hempies du Toit
4th Aug -Cycle followed by lunch at the Black Oyster Catcher winery
5th Aug -Transfer to Airport and fly to Johannesburg, transfer to hotel.
6th Aug -ROTL charity golf tournament at Parkview GC followed by Lions Legends v Springbok Legends rugby at Pirates Club
7th Aug -3rd test v Springboks, Emirates Airline Park (Ellis Park).
8th Aug - Depart.
